The Canadian Cancer Society approached Wallop Film to find a way of communicating the tonally complex and sensitive reality of metastatic cancer, while also inspiring hope in the medical professionals who are working towards a cure.
We collaborated with the spoken word artist, Shane Koyczan, to create an emotionally-charged poem to complement the footage. Our creative approach aimed to convey the emotional journey that comes with this aggressive type of cancer, while revealing the disease’s complexity & the various ways in which scientists are fighting to find a cure.
The video helped raise $1.5 million at the annual Daffodil Ball and it continues to be used online as a tool to raise awareness around metastatic cancer.
